LOUMAY'S HOME - AFTERNOON

----------------------------------------------

Louma has been enjoying a day off, taking care of random errands around town after dropping May off at the generator. The day before, she'd wanted to head to the training grounds for a day of exercise, but had a feeling she should meander about the house taking care of chores instead. The front and rear doors are wide open to let the spring breezes through as Louma slithers to and fro in the sitting room, reorganizing the trinkets on their shelves distractedly.

Maecy approaches Louma's house carrying a stack of carefully folded outfits. She approaches the door and glances inside, not terribly capable of knocking with her hands full, this seems rather convenient! She calls out into the house, "Hello? Is someone home? Sis? Um..." How is she supposed to address her future-sister-in-law anyways? "...Ms Louma?"

Louma pauses mid-slither, the doorway to the siting room just down the hall from the front door. Her tail has stopped crossing the doorway, unmoving until Louma's head peeks around the corner. "Maecy? Hello! How are you enjoying this- Oh! Are those..?" She breaks into a hopeful grin, seeing the cargo Maecy has.

Maecy spots Louma's tail and waits a moment, then smiles as the swan's head comes into view. "They are! I finished up the last of the detailing last night, figured I'd run them over today after breakfast!" She doesn't mention that's already well into the afternoon. She was up working rather late to get everything done. "As for the first question, if you're talking about the weather, it's rather perfect! Not too cool, but not too hot! You getting some spring cleaning done?"

Louma nods as she makes her way down the hallway to greet Maecy properly. "A little bit, yes! Your sister and I work well together keeping up on things, but with a combination of you two losing your winter coats, and my own spring sheds... The fur, feathers and scales can get a little ahead of us." She lifts the top half of Maecy's stack, grinning. "And you can just call me Louma, no need to be so formal with family, right?"

Maecy chuckles, her winter coat mostly gone now, leaving only a few spots of white remaining in random patches that actually would make it currently much easier to differentiate her from her sister. She giggles as Louma helps relieve her burden, "It still feels a bit weird to me, but I'll manage. Never had a sister-in-law before."

Louma nods, slithering to the stairs up to the bedroom, gesturing for Maecy to follow along. "Ah well, I am sorry you are stuck with me as your first." She grins at Maecy, chuckling. "I am glad we've had a chance to meet, though. This all could have been a real out of nowhere surprise if May arrived home one day, fully married to all this."

Maecy snickers, following Louma up the stairs, "Eh, it wouldn't be out of character for her, honestly. May can be a little bit impulsive once she's set her mind on something." Maecy says nothing about her own similar disposition.

Louma thinks about how all this got rolling, quietly clearing her throat as she enters the bedroom and lays her armload of clothing on a cushioned bench that honestly sees very little use. "I think both of us can be, sometimes. But I do know you yourself made your way here without much planning, hmm?"

Maecy snorts, clearing her throat, "Ah! Well, that's... different. There was... business... and um... striking the iron while the fire is hot and such... opportunity... ugh. Fine. So maybe that kind of impulsiveness runs in the family. May is a little more impulsive than I am though." She brings the rest of the clothing over to set upon the bench as well.

Louma looks to Maecy, laughing a bit. "That seems to be the case, can not say I would judge, though. I do hope this all was not too much trouble for you."

Maecy chuckles, stepping back from the bench to stretch her arms a bit, "Your dress was fun. Never made something like that before, both size and style. I really hope you like it. May's suit was a pain, because of course she had to be difficult. But other than that... I'm happy I was here to do this for you two, so don't worry about it."

Louma nods, looking over her folded dress and letting out a quiet sigh. "I am really looking forward to trying the dress on but... I really should follow a few traditions from home. That one at least doesn't require anything special from a temple."

Maecy hums, nodding. "I followed your advice on making it... guessing it's tradition not to wear the dress before the ceremony, then?"

Louma chuckles, nodding. "Well, if we were sticking hard to tradition, I'd have had to remain still and blindfolded for hours while you made it on me, and I am still technically seeing it too early." She glances to Maecy. "One third of tradition is good enough for me."

Maecy tilts her head, "Huh. Well, it's all new traditions for our family. I'd probably want a pretty Sarn-style wedding, but it's sounded like May doesn't have much for a preference."

Louma settles onto her coil, setting folded hands on the top. "True. There was a chapel run by some Vamese folks that we considered, but in the end we settled on not spending the extra money. I think our choices have whittled down to the waterfalls and the park. One is maybe a little loud, the other is rather public."

Maecy considers. "Waterfall is pretty though. But so's the park, especially in this weather. Ahh, both options have their charms though, I can see why that might be a tough decision. What about the rest? I will take a guess and say that Maybelline has primarily focused on what desserts to feature?"

Louma shakes her head. "She tried, but was having as much trouble picking things to trim off to suit our budget. I need to ask her if she would be fine letting the food in general be a suggestion motivated surprise."

Maecy laughs aloud, "Ha! Oh, that's too good. Well, at least I was able to take the stress of outfits out of the equation. Do you have someone performing the ceremony? Or just planning to do an exchange of vows and then file the paperwork?"

Louma nods, looking a bit to the side. "I do know someone of a rather high heritage that might be able to do it. The other choice is to try to get our commandant to perform it, but... He'd probably pass the paperwork back down onto me." She blinks. "I'll ask Xochi first."

Maecy giggles, "Well sounds like you've got options there too, which is good. Is... is there anything else I can help with? I mean... seriously, I want this to be just... the absolutely best for you." Also Maybelline. Probably more for Maybelline, but sibling rules state that Mae can't just offer May help directly like that.

Louma pats Maecy's shoulder, smiling warmly at her. "I would love for you to attend. That is all more I could ask."

Maecy smiles brightly up at Louma, then bows her head, "You'd have to fight me off otherwise."

Louma chuckles, nodding. "Well, since I have you here and certainly owe you something, no protests, how about I make some lunch for us? I'll make sure to hide my dress later, somewhere May can not find it."

Maecy chuckles, "Well putting it anywhere high should be easy enough for you. Unless she's really determined to find it, in which case she'll find a way. Just fair warning, she's got a way of finding her way into places she's not supposed to be. As for lunch, I'd be more than happy to take you up on your offer, Louma."

Louma nods, gesturing toward the stairs. "Well let's get you fed. Do you have anything against spiced meats? I just picked a hock from the market, and tea, of course."

Maecy shakes her head, "May and I both grew up with what we got. I'll eat just about anything, so long as it's not still kicking." She flashes her sharp teeth at Louma, then giggles again, "Oh! Tea is also very good! I love a good cup of tea!"

Louma follows Maecy back to the kitchen, hosting a simple, but tasty assorted lunch with her soon to be sister-in-law, finding more similarities and differences to appreciate between the two stoats. She does eventually find a place to hide her dress once the two part ways, leaving May's suit out in a neat setup on the bench for her to find later in the day.
