RESPITE FALLS - MAIN GATE
----------------------------------------------
Fleuret climbs off the back of a caravan cart, a bag slung over the mare's shoulder. Her dark coat edges into purple, contrasting with the candy-stripes red and white mane, which would be unusual enough were it not for the spire of crystalline material jutting from her forehead.
Fleuret sighs and takes a moment to look over the settlement from outside. Is this how her life will ever be, she wonders? To start anew, again and again?
Fleuret crouches, careful to not muss her blue dress as she reclaims her belongings and heads towards what promises to be her new home.
Louma slithers up along the side of the arrived caravan, a small pile of pinned papers in hand as she quickly assesses everything and everyone that has arrived. She stops next to the colorful equine, staring at her papers as she bluntly queries; "Name, please. Occupation, please. Inten..." She pauses, finally looking at the mare and taking a moment to take in her appearance.
Fleuret looks to Louma, herself a bit intrigued. "My name is Fleuret, and my occupation is.. rather undecided at the moment."
Louma raises an eyebrow, humming to herself. "Well alright, that is not uncommon." She seems to be making a note of this as she continues. "What brings you to Aephix, then?"
Fleuret lets out a small sigh, as she looks back over her shoulder. "Starting a new life, I suppose." She returns her gaze to Louma.
Louma gives a small smile, nodding. "I don't mean to pry too much. Just enough to know who you might be. Are you alone?"
Fleuret nods her head. "I'm afraid so." She can't hide a hint of sadness in that statement.

WILDERNESS NEAR MEAN PEAK - MIDNIGHT
----------------------------------------------
Erika is leaning on her favourite lizard as the two warm each other up after a long, successful day of herb-gathering. Campfire giving a small light into the otherwise endless-seeming night around them, moon shrouded somewhere above the two. For the most part the pair does not seem all that concerned, even after once nearly losing their supplies by being ambushed.
Erika looks up to the moon she catches glimpses of, smiling: "Do you ever think if there's still others, like the Saurs, out here in Aephix, that we've never just met? It's kind of crazy to think about, but there's so much we don't know..."
Nesseth hums quietly, leaning against Erika in turn as he gazes up at the moon as well. "It's possible. We still don't really have a lot of the continent mapped out, and the Saurs and Froge's people don't seem to be too wide-ranging. There might be some folks we don't know about far to the southwest, past that mountain range... and a couple of really large islands off the coast, too."
Erika smiles, glancing at Nesseth: "If there are, I'd like to meet them one day." She pauses, frowning slightly: "Well, as long as they don't start attacking us first."
Nesseth chuckles a little wryly and nods. "It'd be nice to have another first contact like we did with Froge's people. From what I heard, it was a really peaceful meeting." He sighs a bit and gives Erika a little squeeze, "Definitely beats having to wage a war."
Erika leans on Nesseth further and squeezing his side somewhat in turn: "Definitely beats worrying about you. I like you where I can find you most anytime."
Nesseth wraps his tail around Erika as well, letting it loosely drape next to her legs. "Yeah... being out that far from town for so long was stressful. Spent a lot of my time worrying about you, Vix and Plume. Not to mention the town itself."
Erika holds her arms around Nesseth, smiling: "Thankfully this time we're pretty sure nothing's going on down there."
Nesseth nods with a smile as he leans into the hug. "Yeah, this time around, the town should be nice and peaceful for a good while. There are still a few things to take care of around town, but they'll keep until I get back, at least."
Erika smiles warmly: "I'm sure you'll do just as great a job just a bit later."
Nesseth smiles a bit more brightly. "None of it is especially urgent, and the rest of the guards can take care of what they have to while I'm away."
Erika grins, holding her arms around Nesseth's shoulders: "Good, cause I'm not letting you go just yet~."
Nesseth smirks playfully as he likewise hugs Erika a bit closer. "That works out, because I wasn't really ready to let go, anyway~"
Erika giggles, nuzzling closer to Nesseth's neck frills. "Good that we agree, then~."
Nesseth leans his head a little and rests lightly against Erika. "Yup, I'm not escaping any time soon~"
Erika hums softly, holding Nesseth close: "No escapes for you. Possibly not ever, but certainly not tonight~." She leans on him just a bit harder, just because.
Nesseth turns his head to give Erika a kiss as she leans a bit more heavily against him, then 'gives in' and flops over onto his back beneath the okapi. "I'm at your mercy, Erika. I'm not going anywhere~" He leans up and gives her another kiss, the two quickly losing track of things save for each other as the moon peeks out from behind the clouds again, lending a pleasing, gentle blue shimmer to the scene as the faint light reflects off of the plants in the clearing.
