RESPITE FALLS - PLUME'S CLINIC - LATE AFTERNOON
----------------------------------------------
Lianne Sparr has still been recovering in Plume's Clinic under the help of Plume, Tarbin and Melia. Her burns, internal and external, have healed, though massive scarring remains. A proper diet along with limited physical therapy has made her healthier, though she's still frail. Mercifully, at least, today she's able to leave. A final check from Plume has her discharged. The rest is up to her.
Gareth makes his way into the clinic, having decided to stop by and see how Lianne's been recovering. The last couple of times he's stopped by have seen him as slightly unlucky, as she was asleep either due to just needing to recover, or else the painkillers knocked her out. He doesn't see anyone at the front desk at the moment, so he figures Plume and the others are busy in the wards tending to patients. Instead, he just leans against the desk and waits for someone to show up.
Lianne Sparr gathers her things, as well as what minimal supplies Plume felt comfortable enough to give Lianne, given the influx of new patients as well as the Saurs. Soon, she's at the front of the clinic, still nude, having not been back to her room at The Minnow yet to get a change of clothes. She hopes her room hasn't been 'repurposed' since her abduction. Hard to make payments when stuck in a slave labour camp. Her eyes lock onto Gareth's as she approaches. Her walk is slow, a bit pained, but she still manages a small smile to Gareth. "Oh. Come to pick me up, have you?" Lianne questions cheekily.
Gareth looks around upon being addressed, his gaze having wandered out of a window towards the street as he waited. He smiles at seeing Lianne, and nods as his smile shifts into a bit of a cheeky, lopsided grin. He pushes up away from the desk and steps over to the ray, a hand extended, palm up. "If yer bein' released, aye. I figured ye might want some company, either way."
Lianne Sparr: "A walk back to The Minnow wouldn't be unwelcome." Lianne smiles, taking Gareth's hand. "Especially if it comes to talking with the owner of The Minnow about my absence. If I find that they've sold off any of my belongings. . ." Lianne curls her other hand into a fist briefly.
Gareth chuckles a bit as he grasps Lianne's hand, then wraps her in a gentle, brief hug, not wanting to aggravate any of her remaining injuries. "I think yer stuff's fine. What with everythin' that's been goin' on, the owner probably forgot to even charge anyone fer rentin' rooms." He smiles again, "I'm glad to see yer up and about again."
Lianne Sparr: "Please. Like you haven't met any cut-throat business folk in your line of work." Lianne reciprocates the hug gently. "Up, sure. About? Not so sure."
Gareth laughs a bit. "Fair enough. The tavern owner doesn't strike me as the sort to do that, though. Probably one o' the easier ones to take advantage o', really." He sighs a bit as he gives Lianne a quick look over, noting her awkward stance and obvious scarring, "Ye think yer okay to make the walk back to the Minnow? I could carry ye if ye like."
Lianne Sparr: "Thanks, but. . .I'm to walk on my own if I'm to build my body back up." Lianne sighs. "I'm thinking that as soon as I'm capable of making the trip that I'll return back to Neucam's Trench. My recovery will be significantly faster there."
Gareth hums and nods. "Aye, back into the water would probably help ye a lot." He tilts his head curiously, "Did the good Doctor tell ye when ye might be able to get that far?"
Lianne Sparr: "It'll help save on money as well. Perhaps might even pick up some work down there when I'm ready for it." Lianne shakes her head. "We didn't talk about it." She begins to walk slowly.
Gareth walks with Lianne, just letting her lean against him if she needs it. Though he does slow down a bit as they approach the front door. "Do ye want to borrow me overcoat? It's kind o' warm out still, so it'd keep ye from cookin' between here and the Minnow, at least."
Lianne Sparr pauses briefly, thinking about Gareth's offer for a moment. She nods, "Yes, please."
Gareth nods and lets go of Lianne's hand so he can slip out of his overcoat. Once out of it, he sets it onto Lianne's shoulders, letting the thick material hang as she wants it to. "There ye go, then, Lianne."
Lianne Sparr takes a sharp breath in as the overcoat sits upon her bad side. She curls the overcoat around her good side, while only weakly doing so with her bad side. Mostly, though, she's done this for modesty's sake. While Lianne is comfortable with nudity, the townfolk at large are less so. "Thanks." She smiles. "It's. . .Unfortunate that you'll never be able to visit my home. I'd have liked to have taken you with."
Gareth helps Lianne get the coat set into place. He's pretty aware that Lianne doesn't mind just going around nude, and he doesn't mind either, but making sure she doesn't end up frying in the sun so soon after being discharged is a pretty big concern of his anyway. He smiles softly at the comment. "Aye... but I'll still hope that maybe I can see yer home one day, however unlikely it might be." He leans in and gives her another gentle hug before he goes to open the door leading out onto the street.
Lianne Sparr follows alongside slowly.

THE THIRSTY MINNOW - LIANNE'S ROOM - A SHORT TIME LATER
----------------------------------------------
Lianne Sparr makes it to The Minnow well enough despite her slow gait. Once there, She has to explain her situation and where the key to her room had gone. Her unusual circumstances are easily believed thanks to her scarring, and she's granted a replacement key. Once in her room, Lianne slowly takes off the coat and hands it back to Gareth. With a bit of a limp developing, she begins to check her belongings to confirm that none of it has been disturbed.
Gareth accepts his overcoat back and slips back into it. He watches Lianne curiously as he fastens it in place again. "Everythin' where it should be?"
Lianne Sparr: "Seems so." Lianne replies, picking out a backless dress to slip into. She moves the pair of magitech clamps at the end of each strap to where her neck meets her stingray wings, where they seemingly clamp in place to hold the dress up. This gives her body the maximum amount of comfort while still remaining clothed. Then, she sits down at the edge of her bed. "Want to eat out? I'd like a real meal. No offence to Plume's Clinic."
Gareth nods and smiles. "Sure, I can imagine a proper meal would taste really good fer ye about now. Clinic food is fine, but bland." He tilts his head a bit, "Anywhere in particular?"
Lianne Sparr: "Remember where we went on our first date? There, if you wouldn't mind." Lianne replies.
Gareth takes a moment to think, then nods as he recalls where they went. "That was the... Winter Kitchen, I think? Sounds like a plan, then." He smiles and holds out an arm, "Let's get ye somethin' good and tasty to eat."
Lianne Sparr: "Excellent. I'll meet you downstairs in ten minutes then? I'd like to touch up. It's been too long since I've had a fresh coat of lipstick."
Gareth smiles and nods. "Sure, I'll be waitin' at the counter, then." He leans in and gives Lianne a soft kiss on the lips, then makes his way to the door, "Take yer time, Lianne. I'll see ye downstairs."
Lianne Sparr reciprocates the soft kiss, smiling gently at Gareth as he leaves. Once she's alone, she falls back onto the bed behind her with an exhausted sigh. She lays there for a minute or so before she forces herself up again to prepare.
