MARKETPLACE - MID-AFTERNOON

Strix had finished up his sales for the day, early. He hadn't bothered with all his cool inventions that he actually enjoyed, and instead just stocked up on..lights. It annoyed him that all his 'Fun Shinies' were overlooked for small lights, but..well, it paid the food bills. He was interested in the other markets, particular the one of a fellow inventor type, and so the kobold was looking around Jennica and Emmeline's stall, trying to see anything 'interesting' (/dangerous)
Emmeline is just standing behind the counter of the stall, tidying up the display and dusting some stray sand back to the ground. She hums as she works, some old silly song from her childhood.
Strix: "Hmm" He considers "Which shiny is the one that sells the least?" because that's the one that's there just because the inventor likes it, not because its profitable. Or at least that's the Strixlogic.
Emmeline blinks as she notices the kobold in front of the stall. "Oh, hello. Welcome! Sorry, I was a bit distracted... and they're all pretty unique but uh..." She looks around the counter and points out one near the back. "That one has been on offer the longest of any of them... it's a bit... uh..." She picks up the small handwritten card next to it to refresh her memory. "Oh, right... it's a memory aid. Makes you less likely to forget important things you want to remember... at least that's what Jennica told me."
Strix picks it up, and considers it "Maybe with..uh.." He puts it down again "Strix has no idea how that would work" Which he seems pretty happy about, he usually gets some sort of vibe about it! "Strix will buy this. Strix is very interested, Strix met Jennica a while back. Shared a shiny, now Strix return favour"
Strix pauses "Does SalesCow always forget what Shiny does?"
Strix: "This shiny, not all shinies"
Emmeline shakes her head. "No, it's just that Jennica's work is all so different, hard to keep them all sorted out, you know? And no one has looked at that one in about a month... at least while I was here." She picks up the bauble and the card next to it. The bauble is packed into a cute little pastel pink box and the card is set aside. "That'll be 15. You met Jennica you say?"
Strix reaches into a pocket, and pays it over "Yes! Came to Strix's stall, bought healthing potion"
Emmeline takes the money and, after counting it, drops it into the slot on the top of the cash box. "Ah... she has been feeling a bit under the weather. The temperature swings here don't agree with her, I think..." She takes a look at the kobold. "So you're a potionmaker then?"
Strix pockets the 'Shiny' "Strix makes lots of different shinies. Strix trying to make potions now. Strix thinking this will go okay. Strix also trying to make energy drink. Progress is slow"
Emmeline cocks her head. "Energy drink? What would that do?"
Strix: "Make you feel all able to work longer and harder! Say if you're outside, and you need to get home, and you're all tired..take it, and you feel all energy, and able to get home!"
Strix: "Strix has problems. Drink gives lots of energy, able to do what you need..."
Strix: "..Drink also sets Strix on fire"
Emmeline can't help but giggle. "Oh no! That's no good at all. I've heard that the town doctor is quite good though, so that's some comfort?"
Strix: "Oh. Strix fairly fireproof! Kobold!" He taps himself "Strix not sure non-Strixes as fireproof"
Emmeline giggles again. "Oh, I'm not fireproof, no. Neither is Jennica..."
Strix: "Nope! So, Strix thinks Strix needs to make it less energy.." He trails off "Hmm, but that's a future problem for Strix! What about..uh..Strix not know name" He looks to Emmeline
Emmeline cocks her head, taking a moment to parse what Strix is asking for. "Oh, I'm Emmeline. And your name is Strix?"
Strix: "People always so good at guessing Strix's name"
Emmeline smiles. "I guess you just look like a Strix? But aren't strixes a kind of bird? I'll have to check. Anyway, did you have any more questions or is there anything else I could help you with?"
Strix: "Ah..no! Strix is happy now. Will go back to Shinycrafting. Happy to meet Emmeline, and see Jennica's work"
Emmeline nods a bit. "Ah, well nice to meet you. And Jennica just does the magic bits. I do all the cosmetic work on them."
Strix: "Looks are important! Strix sold lots more shinies when Strix made his lights look nice"
Emmeline nods. "Of course. If you'd ever like help with that, I'm available for hire." She smiles a bit.
Strix: "Strix will keep that in mind, but not sure if Emmeline should, Strix also competitor, don't want to make Jennica in a bad spot" He nods his head, to leave
Emmeline nods. "Have a good day, Mr. Strix. Thank you for your business. I'll tell Jennica you stopped by." She waves to the kobold as he goes and then rearranges the baubles to account for the one that just sold.
