MARKETPLACE - AFTERNOON
----------------------------------------------
Vix sits behind her stall, meticulously carving a small block of wood into a somewhat rounder and more detailed shape.
Doc Plume has been shopping for necessities and is now exploring the rest of the market when they notice Vix at her stall. They approach quietly, just watching the cat working on the carving.
Vix 's ears flick toward the approaching figure, but she doesn't look up from her work quite yet. "Just a sec...feel free to browse~"
Doc Plume does so, their eyes scanning over the somewhat random assortment of wares. They smile a bit as they look back at Vix's hands still busily whittling away at the wood.
Vix glances up and blinks as she flicks a chip of wood off her carving. "Oh! Hi, Doc. Need some extra healing herbs?"
Doc Plume nods. "Yeah, could use some more with Erika still not really able to go out and gather them. Anything else I'd be interested in? And what are you working on there?" They look over the wares as they clasp their hands behind their back.
Vix sets the half-finished carving aside and gathers together the fresh and dried herbs from her countertop. The carving is a rough effigy of a mouse, with a cute face and oversized round ears. "Oh, just a little something to pass the time. I've got a few finished ones for sale!"
Doc Plume picks up one of the carvings, this one of a badger. "Do you base them on folks around town or just do whatever? This one does look a bit like Cavro."
Vix smiles. "A little bit. Maybe they'll start to resemble folks more once I start getting better.
Doc Plume nods, smiling. "Well I'll take this one in addition to the herbs, I think." They look over the rest of the wares before making eye contact with Vix again. "So... were you worried about Nesseth when he was away too?"
Vix blinks, surprised at the question. "A little bit. I made him a good luck charm, though!"
Doc Plume smiles. "I gave him one too..." They crouch down a bit to get closer to Vix's level. "Yeah... I mean, I know he's good at his job, but I still worried..."
Vix hums. "You've got a treatment for stress and worry though, right?"
Doc Plume smiles. "I just try to keep busy and trust that he can take care of himself. I got a lot of experience with that growing up. My dad was away most of the time."
Vix: Hmm...My childhood was pretty dangerous. I'm used to folks being worried about me instead!
Doc Plume laughs. "Interesting. Maybe you can tell me about it sometime..."
Vix smiles mysteriously. "Maybe~"
Doc Plume shakes their head. "All right... how much for the herbs and the carving?"
Vix counts them up. "Mmm...15 coins should do it . If you want, I can throw in a fresh cookie for another coin~"
Doc Plume counts out sixteen coins and passes them over. "I can't say no to a cookie..."
Vix presents a chocolate chip cookie on a paper napkin. "Enjoy~"
Doc Plume takes it and puts it in their beak, giggling a bit. They carefully pack the herbs and the carving into a bag and wink at Vix. "Fanks..."
Vix winks back. "Anytime~"
Doc Plume turns and walks back into the market to browse the other non-food vendors for a bit.
