THE THIRSTY MINNOW - MID-AFTERNOON

----------------------------------------------

Froge wanders into the now familiar bar, a vague smile plastered on his face as he approaches the counter with a few coins. "Three fresh fishes, please!" He practically bounces on the spot, croaking a quiet happy song to himself as he waits for his food.

Erika practically bounces to the bar, the okapi clearly... well, sort of vaguely floating and she seems to have this glow about her. She bounds to the bar, waves at Froge, gets herself a drink then waves at Froge again: "Hi!"

Froge waves to Erika both times, grinning. "Hello again! You seem quite happy today, even thinking of before!" He lets out a gleeful croak as a platter of raw fish is laid down before him, "Will you join me?" He asks, sitting at the nearest table.

Erika grins, waving her drink in a way it's a wonder of its' contents aren't on the floor already by the time she sits down: "Sure! Happy to have company with my cider. Or cider with my company. Either works!"

Froge giggles a croaking chorus, not wasting time between sitting and whip-eating the first third of his meal. "Have you found something incredible among your garden, perhaps?"

Erika blushes and grins as she looks up: "...you could say that, yes~."

Froge doesn't notice the blush, nodding happily. "That's great! Discovering new things and exploring are such fun, hm?"

Erika grins in a very self-satisfied way: "Oh, definitely~."

Froge smiles back. "I'm happy you're happy! Hopefully you can learn much from it." He nods in affirmation of nothing, trying to decide which fish to eat next.

Erika nods, not even really trying to lessen her grin. She then considers the plate of fishes, tilting her head: "...fish?"

Froge nods. "Mhm, delicious fishes. There doesn't seem to be anyone around here that stocks food from home." He opens his mouth wide, tongue lashing out and snatching up the second morsel to be swallowed whole, eliciting a happy croak.

Erika feels her smile waning down to a confused one as she looks at the frog eating and finds herself feeling a bit green herself. "...uhm... kay? I mean, whatever you like I suppose."

Froge tilts his head, blinking at her. "Ah... I don't know what you mean? Did I say something wrong?"

Erika quickly shakes her head: "No, I just... fish isn't for me. Sorry." She takes a sip of her cider and attempts to keep her smile.

Froge looks down at his plate, then back to Erika, a sad look in his eyes. "Oh, I didn't know I was bothering you..." He thinks for a moment, then picks up his plate and turns away from Erika. When he turns back, the plate is clean. "There! No more fish."

Erika blinks in surprise: "...buh? Okay, that works." She then shakes her head and takes another sip, feeling a bit confused, but noticeably less green as well.

Froge nods, giggling his little croaks. "I'm having a good day too, mhm! All my stock is gone, sold every last wisp of firegas!" He bounces a little as he speaks, grinning.

Maybelline carefully pushes open the door with a steady hand, then leans against it to prop it open, awkwardly fidgeting around for a moment to navigate in with her crutches. "Mmrph. Friggen' doors... why do you require hands. And why are you so big..." She moves to the bar, waving for her 'morning' coffee, and begins to pile sugar into it, not taking much note of the others yet.

Erika nods with a smile: "Oh, yeah, firegas. That was your thing, wasn't it?"

Erika cheerily waves at Maybelline upon noticing her, because of course she does.

Froge looks toward Maybelline as she enters, but refocuses on Erika. "Mhm, and with it all gone, I have to go home and get more." He leans on the table. "I"m mostly happy about that, honestly."

Erika nods with a smile again: "Yup, home is good!" She blinks, pausing: "...where exactly IS your home, anyway?"

Maybelline gets the coffee to her taste and waves to... the two who she's never met? She manuevers herself over to a nearby table and takes a seat. "Morning..."

Froge thinks a moment. "They called it South, it's South of here. Maybe... 4 days walking?" He looks towards May, smiling at her. "Hello!"

Erika grins at May and waves at her again: "Hi! It's a good day, not sure if it's morning anymore, but who's counting right?"

Froge chuckles a frogsong. "Yes, time only matters if you've got somewhere to be. Day, night, as long as it's good, it's good!"

Maybelline sips her coffee. "Oh.. uh... right. I might have overslept. And I don't like looking at the sun. And I haven't been drinking enough coffee of late." She hums, taking a long sip. "My precious, precious elixir... Mmm..."

Erika giggles a bit at May's comment. "Pretty precious, it seems."

Froge takes notice of May's arm. "Ah... May I ask what happened there?"

Maybelline shrugs, setting the coffee mug down. "Bit of a burn. Tiny little generator explosion. It's almost all healed now!"

Erika raises an eyebrow: "Are we talking about the same 'tiny' explosion that got our power all messed up a few weeks ago?"

Froge gives her a bit of a sideways look, "I know burns, that's not from fire... But as long as you're okay, that's all that matters!"

Maybelline nods at Erika, giving her a thumbs up. "Yeah. Magic explosion, ICEE burn. But I'm okay now, getting myself ready to work again, coffee flowing in my veins, yeah!"

Froge giggles a frogsong. "I like you, you have a great attitude!"

Erika smiles, her concern fading if only a bit: "Oh okay! Stuff's good." She takes a sip of her cider, smiling brightly: "So how're things going with that Annika girl, did you yet find the courage to ask or did the accident get in the way?"

Maybelline 's positive attitude immediately darkens, "Oh... uh... you know about that? It uh, didn't... quite work out." Her gaze drops to the table. "...y-you know how it is. Doesn't quite uh... I'm not her type, that's all. Still friends, at least..."

Erika winces upon seeing May's reaction: "Oop. Sorry for asking."

Maybelline sighs, but shrugs, "Not like you coulda known."

Erika shakes her head, then attempts a smile anyway: "...well, at least now you know, right? Knowing is better than uncertainty."

Froge looks sadly at Maybelline, though he's somewhat confused. "I don't understand, you're friends and that's not good?"

Maybelline blinks at Froge, then nods, "Yeah, friends is good. But uh... I'd hoped to be... more. Then just friends, that is."

Maybelline sighs, "How is it that having an entire reactor literally explode in your face still ends up healing faster then a stupid crush...?"

Froge looks toward Erika, clearly still unclear but not pushing the point further in case he offends someone again.

Erika taps her fingers together: "Yeah, uh... yeah. That." She really wants to tell the world how awesome Cavro is but refrains right this moment. "It's just... your heart is very silly at times."

Maybelline nods, "You can say that again..."

Erika gives Froge a bit of a shrug before smiling at May some more: "You'll find someone, I'm sure."

Froge looks between the two, then suddenly lights up. "Yes, I think you will make more friends! Best friends, even! I will be a friend, Froge friend!" He ribbits the last two words, smiling at May.

Maybelline lifts her head up and smiles at Froge. "...okay. Cool. I'm uh, Maybelline. But you can just call me May."

Erika smiles brightly: "I'm Erika. But you can just call me Erika. No, wait..." She lifts a hand to her chin.

Froge chuckles throatily, "See? Lots of friends!"

Maybelline chuckles, "I've already got more friends in this town then I ever had back home, that's for sure. Still don't know why everyone wants to be friends with just some stoat like me."

Erika shrugs, smiling: "Being friends is way better than not being friends, that's why. Or at least, that's how I think about it."

Froge blinks at May. "Well, I like you because you seem pretty honest with your feelings. When you're sad you look sad, when you're happy you look happy. I like that, you can obviously be trusted!"

Maybelline chuckles, "Well, Dad always said I had no face for poker."

Erika shrugs again: "Don't look at me, I don't even know how to play poker."

Froge tilts his head. "Poker? What is that?"

Maybelline: "It's a game, played with cards. I guess it usually requires a bit of bluffing to make people think you have better cards then you actually have. Or worse cards then you actually have. All to try to trick them into making the wrong move, so you can win their money in bets."

Erika nods: "Yup. I've never seen the point, but then again plenty of folks don't see the point of my garden so whatever."

Froge shakes his head at Erika. "Your garden is an oasis in this heat! It's beautiful and important!"

Maybelline smiles at Erika, "Oh! You've got a garden! That's cool! I mean, keep me away from it. I'm all black thumbs. But still, impressive. Especially in this climate."

Erika blushes a bit at the praise: "Oh it's nothing. Just my Mom's garden I've taken over..." She looks aside, but can't exactly stop herself from smiling.

Froge nods. "I stumbled into it one day, and Erika saved my life! She had a barrel of rain and everything!"

Maybelline raises an eyebrow curiously, "Barrel of rain?"

Erika shrugs: "Rainwater for my garden."

Maybelline blinks, "Oh! You mean literally! I thought it was some kind of irrigation system name? Sorry, I got a mind that thinks in terms of pipes and gears."

Froge grins, looking to Maybelline. "Ah... I've never seen such things, would you show me after I return?"

Erika giggles, waving a hand: "Nah, that stuff is way over my little head. Greenery I can understand."

Maybelline grins, looking between the two, "I can always show you my work, sure! I'll hopefully be rebuilding the generator soon. And I could even try to design something simple if you want a little help with watering the garden. I've been working with the local smith, Cavro, to get parts manufactured. I'm sure once he's got time he could help with some simple copper piping and the like."

Erika blinks, smiling confusedly: "Oh wait! Right, you're the town engineer my Cavro's been working with." She slaps a hand on her forehead: "I feel so dumb. Sorry, May!"

Froge understands roughly five percent of what May says, but his gleeful expression and slight bouncing don't readily betray that. "Wonderful, something else to look forward to!"

Maybelline 's own passion for her work is in full display as she nods excitedly at Froge, not even picking up on any lack of understanding. She turns to Erika and nods, "Yep! So you know Cavro then?"

Erika grins proudly: "He's my... friend... maybe more than friend... actually definitely more than just friend now. Um."

Froge tilts his head in confusion again. "I still don't understand, is this a local tradition of some sort?"

Maybelline seems a bit surprised at Erika, but perks up a little, "Oh! Oh shoot, I had no idea!" She glances at Froge, "Wait, local tradition? You mean love? I uh, I'm assuming Erika means love. You do right?"

Erika nodnods: "Yeah, love. I'm pretty sure what we did is- I mean, yes, love. That." She's blushing pretty fiercely by now, but the words keep coming: "He's the smith and pretty great. I mean he's pretty great and the smith."

Froge suddenly brightens as if a firework went off in his head. "OH! It's a mating thing! I forgot that others couple, so sorry!"

Erika blushes brighter at the word 'mating'.

Maybelline is suddenly blushing at the word 'mating' as well, "Y-yeah uh, that! So anyways! Y-yes! I'd be delighted to talk engineering with either of you, anytime! Ha! Haaaaahh..."

Erika nods hastily: "Yes. Engineering. Pipes and stuff."

Froge nods, a happy frogsong behind his words. "I'm glad that's all cleared up, I was so confused!"

Maybelline: "Y-yeah! Totally cleared up! Just... Pipes and valves and hosing... just... nothing complicated there!"

Erika nodnods again: "Yup, all that." She then takes a deep breath, followed by a gulp of her cider as she attempts to gather herself.

Froge turns to Erika. "Speaking of breeding, did you want me to bring back some seeds from home? I can try to find a sapling, too, but I don't think it will survive without a lot of water."

Erika looks at Froge in surprise, finding her blush again in an instant. She swallows: "Buh? Seeds... oh, THOSE seeds. Right. Yes. Sure, seeds will work."

Maybelline sits back, face still red, and simply takes a long, hard swig of her coffee.

Froge nods, smiling. "I'll make sure to find as many different ones as I can, then. I'll try my best to remember the conditions they grow in, but really most of it will be 'wet mud'." He chuckles a frogsong again.

Erika nods absently: "I do have wet mud, I think."

Maybelline sets her coffee mug back down, "If uh, if not, it's a bit easy to make. Or so I've been led to understand."

Froge nods. "You could maybe plant them near the waterfall?"

Erika tilts her head, attempting to will her blush away: "...but that's not where my garden is? Hmm."

Froge shrugs. "There's lots of water though, why can't you plant there?"

Erika looks at Froge: "I mean, I can, but... nevermind. I'll figure something out."

Froge: "It's up to you, I'll bring them either way."

Maybelline glances between the two, "I'd uh, offer to help but... sorta got my hands full with the generator. And I'd also be afraid I'd kill all your plants. I had a little cactus once. It uh... died."

Erika looks at Maybelline with a sad smile: "It happens to the best of us." She then turns to Froge, finding her smile properly: "I'll take care of them."

Froge smiles back, croaking happily. "I know you will! The plants love you, after all."

Erika nods, smiling, as she finishes her cider. Setting the glass back down, she muses: "...yeah, guess they do. Thank you."

Froge nods, glancing out the window at the late afternoon shadows. "Hum... I'll probably head out tonight, in fact. Perhaps I should visit Strix again, though."

Maybelline blinks. "Oh! If you do, tell him to visit May when he gets a chance. I need to figure out how to make lightning stop striking just outside my house before I can starting building in there..."

Erika blinks at May: "Oh. Yeah, that's probably a bit of a problem. Why does the lightning strike there, anyway?"

Maybelline shrugs, "StrixShiny. It's the only reason the town's getting any power, as... inconsistent as it is."

Froge blinks as well. "Ah, that was Strix's doing? Okay, I'll be sure to let him know!"

Erika nods slowly: "...oh. Okay. I have no idea, but as long as you can find a solution, it's good right?"

Maybelline nods, smiling at Erika, "It's all good, yeah. But it is a... mild inconvenience right now. Solutions are incoming, though."

Froge sits back, resting. "You seem really confident, that's a good sign."

Erika gets up, then leans over to give Maybelline a careful half-hug: "I'm sure you can figure it out." She then hesitates a brief moment, before stepping over and hugging Froge as well: "I gotta go find my, uh, smith. You have fun!"

Maybelline seems very caught off guard by the hug, but manages to at least half-hug back. She smiles at Erika and nods, "Uh, yeah. Go uh, enjoy your time together. Good luck!" She smiles at Froge as well, "And thanks to both of you."

Froge is surprised, but mimics the hug back with a smile. "I'll see you in a few weeks!"

Erika waves at the two before heading out, intent on locating a particular badger. And definitely not having any problem with pipes.

Froge smiles at May. "You're welcome, though for what I'm not sure?" He chuckles a frogsong, glancing again out the window. "I should perhaps head out though. Keep as much of the night around me as I can while making my way South..."

Maybelline nods, "Gonna relax and get another coffee, but don't let me stop you from heading out. Travel safe!"

Froge stands from his seat, giving May a decent bow instead of a hug. "It was fantastic to meet you, May! Have a great evening." Froge heads out the door, pausing in the frame to wave to May before leaving the Minnow in a beeline for Strix's alley. So many promises to keep, and so much to look forward to upon returning!

Maybelline waves goodbye as the frog heads out, grinning wide, before hopping out of her seat to get another coffee, humming happily as she thinks of all these new friends...

GUARD TRAINING AREA

----------------------------------------------

Nesseth is currently dancing around a practice dummy, having forgone his crossbow practice for the day in favor of brushing up on his footwork after his sparring match with Louma the other day. He moves with a lot of agility as he darts around, striking the dummy with his hands as he weaves in and out of imaginary attacks. Little plumes of dust get kicked up with every step, only to get blown away by the gentle breeze rolling through the area.

Damina has already arrived, but rather than announce her presence, simply opts to watch Nesseth's skills. She's quite impressed by his agility, and all the movements make her think of a bizarre dance, the kind punctuated with fists instead of heel-taps.

Nesseth continues in this manner for about a minute or so before he slows to a stop in order to catch his breath. He steps back a bit and shakes his hands out to get a bit of feeling back into them again while stretching his neck a bit to loosen up.

Damina continues to watch. She's found a decent place to perch up on, so it's not like she's going to get accidentally swiped.

Nesseth seems to be finished for the moment as he turns to stride back to a nearby bench, where he scoops up a towel and starts to wipe his scales down a bit.

Damina notices that he's taking a break, and so decides to finally announce her presence by shouting "Hey!"

Nesseth jumps at the sudden shout and gets his frills a bit tangled in his towel. He spends a few moments struggling with it before it finally releases his head from its grasp. "G-gah...! Wh-who in the...?"

Damina makes sure to make as much noise as possible while also coming down as fast as possible from her perch, which is on a nearby rooftop. She lands with a roll and quickly bounds up to Nesseth, trying to hide the smirk on her face from noticing his predicament.

Nesseth sighs a bit as he sees Damina landing nearby, taking a moment to sling his towel over a shoulder. As she bounds over to him, he manages a smile and a wave. "Oh, it's you, Damina. What's up?"

Damina laughs in a very excited manner. "You are not gonna believe this. I went and got myself some fancy new knives!"

Nesseth tilts his head. "New knives? Like, what, hunting knives or something?"

Damina: "Actually..." She draws one out and displays it, engravings and all.*

Nesseth 's eyes get drawn to the dagger in Damina's hands. "Huh... a punching dagger? Haven't seen one of those in a long while..." He looks up at Damina after a moment, "Something new for use during your patrols, I take it?"

Damina nods. "Patrols, or whatever happens that I need to use them. On one hand, I hope I never have to use them, but on the other hand..."

Nesseth shrugs. "Never hurts to have something on back-up, just in case. I just keep my hunting knife on hand whenever I'm out past the walls. Helps with skinning and whatnot."

Damina: "Anyway... hmmm... I heard you got into a fight with the captain or something? How'd that go?"

Nesseth chuckles. "Not an actual fight. We just spent a bit sparring, is all." He lifts a hand up to his right shoulder and lightly massages the bandage underneath his clothes, "She managed to get a couple of good hits in, but I managed to return the favor."

Damina looks at the damage. "Uh huh, sparring. Yeah, that does not look okay in the slightest."

Nesseth laughs a bit. "Just a bruise is all. It only looks worse because Plume insisted they bandage my shoulder up until the bruise went away. I wouldn't be surprised if Louma got the same treatment if she went to talk to them."

Damina can't help but chuckle. "Yyyep. Anyway, what do you think of these things?" She spins one around in her fingers and holds the other one still.

Nesseth smiles as he watches the spinning dagger tracing arcs through the air. "Nice pieces of work, for sure. If the smith you got them from put as much care into the craftsmanship as they did the engraving, they'll be pretty rugged."

Damina eyes the training area, looking for something... "Should probably test them out..."

Nesseth gestures a little ways away from the spot he'd been practicing at. "Bladed weapon training dummies are over that way. They shouldn't damage the edge on your daggers, regardless of what you do, but you'll probably still need to take a whetstone to them after just to make sure."

Damina stares at the training dummy, her tail flicking from side to side. She grips on to her daggers tightly.

Nesseth moves out of the way and takes a seat on a nearby bench to watch Damina do her thing.

Narrator: It happens in almost a second. Damina pounces over to the nearest dummy and slashes at it thrice with unexpected ferocity.

Nesseth 's eyebrows rise upon seeing Damina's rapid attacks, not to mention the skill with which she wields the blades. "I take it I wouldn't be far off in thinking you've used punching daggers in the past?"

Damina has already gone on to a second dummy and is busy doing horrible things involving head trauma. "Never used them in my life! Could you believe it? I'm just very suited to punching things!"

Nesseth watches Damina as she continues to savage the dummies. "I guess that would make you pretty quick to acclimate to punching daggers, yeah."

Damina has now cut off one of the dummies' heads. She's getting way too into this, but suddenly she just... stops. Not as if she's tired or anything, but more like, well, a cat that simply got bored with playing with its prey.

Nesseth chuckles upon seeing Damina lose interest in the dummies. "Already calling it done for the day?"

Damina shrugs. "If I get too carried away, there won't be any dummies left for anyone else to use." The ones she's already torn into have been thoroughly thrashed, to be truthful.

Nesseth nods. "Well, thankfully, the dummies are just straw and wood." He pauses, tilting his head as he gets a better look at the pieces scattered around the two Damina's already attacked, "Though I think those two are probably better off being used for heating or light at this point..."

Damina lets out an almost sarcastic sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. I thought they were made of something valuable."

Nesseth smirks. "I mean, they might have been magitech training dummies, or something."

Damina fakes an expression of horror. "Oh no! Imagine the money I'd have to pay! Ahhh who am I kidding, you can't put a price on magic."

Nesseth grins. "I'm sure the Sarn magitech engineers would disagree, there. But yeah, those dummies are easy to replace, so don't worry about them."

Damina finds this incredibly funny for whatever reason and lets out a loud laugh

Nesseth stretches his neck and stands up from the bench, leaving his towel folded atop it. He gestures at the daggers for a moment. "Mind letting me take a shot? I wonder how much I remember about using those things..."

Damina considers it. She gives it a thorough thinking-about. After some amount of time... "Alright, sure. Not like you're gonna break them."

Nesseth strides up to Damina with a little grin. "Don't worry. I had a bit of training with them before I left Embercoast. I just want to see how much I remember."

Damina nods and gives the knives to him, before finding something to sit on and watch.

Nesseth accepts the daggers and gives them a deft little spin on his fingers, before grasping their handles. He spends a little bit testing their weight and getting a feel for how they balance, then moves over to another training dummy. Shutting his eyes, he spends another minute or so trying to recall the ready stance he'd been taught, years back.

Damina just keeps on watching...

Nesseth settles into a wide stance, using his tail for balance as he prepares, then launches forward and begins a series of wide, arcing slashes. His movements are swift and his body leans precariously from point to point as he moves, his tail keeping him from toppling over.

Nesseth manages to keep his movements up for about 30 seconds straight, during which the dummy acquires numerous deep cuts and gouges, but he eventually slows to a stop, looking almost dizzy as he leans over and tries to catch his breath, his fists propped against his knees.

Damina: "Whoa! You okay there?"

Nesseth manages a nod after a moment. "Yeah... yeah, I'm fine. Just... whew... I'm not meant for this kind of fighting..."

Damina leans her head back. "I can see that. You're much better with a bow anyway."

Nesseth gives a bit of a ragged chuckle once he catches his breath. "That's why I trained with a crossbow more than things like this. I can use them, but... I don't have the stamina for extended use."

Damina ponders. "I wonder how long I could last..."

Nesseth straightens up once he's recovered from his exertion, then goes to give Damina back her daggers. "Only one way to really find out. Just gotta practice until you run out of energy.

Damina takes them back, looking closely at the eye pattern in one of them. "Maybe some other time. Louma expects me to show off what I can do later, so there's that."

Nesseth hums and nods. "Oh yeah, then you'll definitely want to conserve your energy if you want to make a good impression." He folds his arms and grins, "I'm sure you'll do just fine, though. Louma's quite fair in her assessments."

Damina stretches her arms back before putting her knives away. "After that... do you, I dunno, wanna try and do something around town?"

Nesseth nods again. "Sure. I don't really have anything pressing to take care of later on. When's your meeting with Louma?"

Damina racks her brain for the memory. "Uhhh... next morning? Yeah that was it."

Nesseth blinks. "Huh... I guess she wants you as fresh as possible for whatever she plans to have you do."

Damina continues stretching out. "When we ended up meeting at the bar, she said it was a shame that I joined the ranks. Hopefully, when this is all said and done she ain't gonna be disappointed in me at all."

Nesseth tilts his head. "She said that, huh? That's an odd thing for her to say..." He hums thoughtfully and rubs his chin with a finger, "Well, if she's had any preconceptions about you, just show her what you can do with those daggers. I'm sure her opinion will turn around real fast."

Damina nods. "Yep. Now to find some guard armor, because she grilled me for not wearing any."

Nesseth chuckles. "What's your style? Do you prefer light or heavy?"

Damina responds with little hesitation. "Light, no other way. Being held down will get me killed."

Nesseth nods. "Yeah, I figured as much. I prefer light armor, too. It shouldn't be too hard to get you fitted for a new set, since the leatherworkers generally keep a stock of ready-to-work leather pieces on hand."

Damina: "Sounds pretty useful. We should probably get that done immediately."

Nesseth nods over towards the practice grounds' exit as he unfolds his arms. "The fitting wouldn't take too long, since they just need to get your measurements and whatnot. The armor is adjustable for comfort, since everyone is built differently." He gives Damina a lop-sided smile, "But the actual construction of the armor will take a while. Probably at least a few days."

Damina taps the center of her paws. "So should I get a used set in the meantime?"

Nesseth shakes his head. "Nah, I think Louma will be okay if you just tell her you're getting a set made for you. But if you really want to get used to the armor, a temporary set from the barracks might help."

Damina: "That sounds like the better option. Thanks for the heads-up."

Nesseth nods. "No problem. The armor doesn't have to be anything too fancy. I just have a chest guard, bracers and some boots that go over a bit of chain, and some boots. I like keeping it really lightweight."

Damina stretches her arms to the side. "Something that can fit under my coat would be great. I'm not giving up on this thing."

Nesseth gets a better look at the coat. "Oh yeah, the light armor isn't that bulky. It should fit nicely enough under your coat."

Damina gives it a dramatic swoosh, and, realizing how goofy she looks, decides to go all into it and tips her hat over her face menacingly. "Be honest, how does it look?"

Nesseth watches Damina's theatrics for a few moments, the corners of his mouth quirking up a bit. "Mysterious and maybe just a touch intimidating."

Damina stops with the goofy drama and goes back to normal. "Excellent."

Nesseth allows himself to chuckle and grin as Damina drops the act. "So, anyway, I'm guessing you just popped by here to test out your new daggers?"

Damina shakes her head. "Close, I actually came to show them to you! Had a feeling you'd appreciate them."

Nesseth: "Well, your intuition was right on the money. Those daggers look nice, and balance really well. Their grips are high-quality and, even though I'm rusty with anything close-quarters, they handled really nicely."

Damina yawns and gets up. "Now, we really need to visit that leather worker. I should head home as soon as possible, y'know?"

Nesseth nods as he goes to grab his towel, having only brought the bare necessities to the field this time around. "Sounds like a plan. They should still be open and working around now, so you can at least get the sizing done today." He heads out of the training area with Damina, chatting about this and that regarding guard duty and other similar topics as they make their way to their destination.
