Delia and Gillian's Apartment - Late Afternoon
Delia opens the door to her apartment. Well, not really just hers anymore, not really in any practical sense. The werecorgi steps inside, closes the door behind her, sets her shoulder bag aside and drops her jacket onto the floor. Few seconds pass as she just stares ahead, not really at anything in particular. Slowly, a smile creeps on her snout. Quietly, she pumps her fist... And very much not quietly, she lets out a loud cheer that almost turns into a howl. "Yes! "
Gillian only arrived 'home' moments ago, and is just setting things out in the kitchen to cook up something for dinner. Nothing in the oven yet, just spreading out the ingredients and taking stock of her plan. She glances up with a smile when she hears the door, and responds to the cheer with a giggle, "Oh! I'm glad to see you again too!"
Delia blinks mid-cheer, then looks at Gillian with a blushing smile. "Oh, uh, hey there, pretty thing." She walks towards the Faun, tail wagging: "Good to be home~."
Gillian slips out of the kitchen to meet the corgi half-way, giving her a hug, "I appreciate that, but I'm guessing that cheer wasn't for me though?"
Delia giggles: "Well um no. Though it kinda is too." She shakes her head, then grins: "I uh, I got it."
Gillian perks up, her ears standing up excitedly, "The interview was today? You got it?!" She grabs Delia and lifts her up into a tight hug, the Faun not exactly 'strong' but, well, it's not a hard lift. "I Knew you'd get it! Yes!"
Delia eep's upon being lifted, even though this has happened plenty before: "Ack! Yeah, uh, yeah I did!" She takes a breath: "Auriel apparently knew I was g-going to ask, can you imagine she had a room ready for me, an empty office I've even been cleaning!"
Gillian eeps as well, putting Delia down carefully, "Sorry! Sorry! You just... I get so excited for you! I uh... have a little bit of news myself... good and bad, if you're ready for it."
Delia tilts her head, looking up at her lover: "What's up? Hopefully nothing too bad."
Gillian shrugs a little sheepishly (goatishly?), "Well, uh, I had my review today regarding my progress at Ad-Hoc, and my job, and volunteer work, and everything else and well... they did offer me a job as the head chef of the campus cafeteria."
Delia blinks: "Oh wow, that's pretty incredible." She steps over to hug the Faun's midriff tightly. "Congratulations!" She then blinks her eyes open: "Wait, did we just... On a same day?"
Gillian giggles, "I suppose we did? I didn't realize you had an interview with Auriel, and uh, I didn't realize my check-in would turn into a job offer, but... here we are!" She practically beams.
Delia grins herself, hugging tighter: "We definitely are!" She steps back enough to just hold Gillian's hands: "We've got to celebrate this~."
Gillian shrinks a bit, "W-well I was cooking something... but it's not all good news. I mean, it's a little bit of a pay drop from the diner, but better hours... and um, the other little thing is... they sorta... told me I had to leave the campus."
Delia tilts her head, the smile waning slightly: "Leave?"
Gillian nods, "They um, weren't even sure I'd been using my room on campus... so they asked me to start looking for somewhere to live off-campus..." She points to a very small box of things by the door (because most of her things are already in the apartment), "I hope you don't mind me bringing everything here."
Delia blinks, the pauses, then realization dawns and the smile comes back. "Oh. Guess that makes sense... Roommate? No that sounds wrong. Let's go with girlfriend some more."
Gillian blushes, raising a hand up to rub her neck a bit awkwardly, "I didn't want to make assumptions and just say 'I'm moving in', but um... I guess I kinda already had? So um... if that's okay?"
Delia smirks: "I could say 'thought you'd never ask', but that's a bit cliche isn't it?"
Gillian giggles again, "Err... Umm.. sorry. I didn't want to impose! But I guess I sorta thought about it and... Um, not much changes if I'm just 'living' here versus always here anyways."
Delia giggles: "I think you're right, love. I guess... Welcome home, then."
Gillian squees a bit at the sound of it, "And welcome home to you! It's your home, I just um, live here? I'm just... Yeah. You know. I'm here."
Delia giggles and pulls herself into another hug: "Congrats, pretty thing."
Gillian hugs back, much less suddenly, but no less passionately, "And to you too! So uh... I hadn't really done much besides kitchen prep... what kind of celebration did you have in mind?"
Delia shrugs: "I dunno. But um... We could go out instead, let someone else cook for us, be pretty for just ourselves."
Gillian snugs again before letting Delia down, "Thought that might be what you had in mind. So, somewhere cheap...? Or somewhere I might need to wear that nice dress I bought myself?"
Delia hums, considering Gillian up and down: "I think I'd like to see you in that dress some more... "
