Lei 's fingers nimbly dance across her workstation's keyboard as she goes about wrapping up a few documents concerning various details on the operations of the facility for the day. A cable pokes out from just under the edge of her long, wavy brown hair just behind her ear, which is connected to her workstation as well. A direct connection always makes uploading relevant files much faster for an AI.
Lei spends several minutes like this, tying up everything in a nice digital package as she saves everything and sends it all in for perusal in the morning. Once she's finished shutting down her station, she unplugs the cable and stows it away in her desk, then stands up and makes her way over to Auriel's office door to notify the dragon that she's done for the day. She takes a moment to knock, then peeks into the office with a bright smile.
Auriel has been pent up in her office all day, doing her best to focus on her work until she can be assured that everyone is out of the building for the day. As it gets a little past the end of work hours, she hears the knock, followed by the door cracking open. Her voice is it's usual uniform tone as she glances up over from her screen. "Hm? Yes? Lei. Shouldn't you be gone by now?"
Lei giggles and shakes her head as she steps a little more fully into the office. "Nope! I was finishing up some of those bits of paperwork you were asking for the other day, along with the usual end-of-day red tape stuff. I'm just poppin' in to tell you I just finished, though!"
Auriel sits back, raising an eyebrow at Lei. "Finished up on that did you? Hm. Well, good work." She pauses a moment, though the hesitation is barely noticeable. "That'll be all then, Lei."
Lei grins, then pauses and tilts her head. "Nothing else? Really? Huh... okay, then!" She gives Auriel a cheerful wave as she steps back out of the office, "I'll head out before you change your mind. See you later, Auri!"
Auriel hmphs. Turning back to the document she's been typing as Lei heads out to leave. She stares blankly at the screen, clenching her fist slightly as she considers following after. A moment later, she rises from her seat and follows after, "Lei. Wait one moment..."
Lei comes to a stop just a few steps down the hall when she hears Auriel calling after her. She comically slumps her shoulders as she turns, though she's still smiling good-naturedly. "I had a feeling it was too good to be true, Auri. Whatcha need me to do?"
Auriel frowns a moment at Lei, then sighs. "This is... not work related. I have a much more personal issue that I need to address. Once which... I would ask your assistance with."
Lei stands up straight again and shrugs with a smile. "Sure! You know all you gotta do is ask, right? Whatcha need help with?"
Auriel waits a moment more as if she is assessing Lei with her usual calculating stare. "Alright then, step back into my office." She turns and heads back inside.
Lei tilts her head curiously, but follows after the dragon. She shuts the door behind her as usual, then gives Auriel a curious look. "I'm not gonna get chewed out for something I forgot to do, am I? Coulda sworn I got everything, this time around."
Auriel shakes her head as she takes her seat. "No, of course not. As I said, this is personal." She clasps her hands, propping them on the desk. "To be frank with you, Lei, I am in heat. Dragons go through heat twice on a semi-regular basis, once during peak fertility, and once when their body prepares to deposit an egg. The former, I am capable of controlling. Today, however, I woke up experiencing the latter."
Lei blinks, then moves forward and takes a seat on the opposite side of the desk, leaning forward a bit with interest. "Huh, I'm guessing the latter's a bit more intense or something?" She pauses, her eyes characteristically flicking about a little as she accesses information internally, "...Dang, there's not much information on the matter..."
Auriel grimaces slightly. "More intense, and requiring stimulation that I cannot provide myself." She narrows her eyes. "I would trust that you would keep any such information discreet, of course."
Lei grins almost immediately and nods. "Yup, of course! I wouldn't dare give away information sources." Her grin fades into a smile, "So, what you're saying is that you want me to give you that satisfaction to help you ride this out?"
Auriel nods. "Enough stimulation should signal my body to release the egg, enabling me to 'ride this out', yes." She considers a moment longer, "I would not be asking if I did not think I could trust you, Lei, but be aware this will have no impact on your position here, if you accept, or deny this proposal. It is purely a personal favor."
Lei giggles and nods. "Hey, I'm always happy to help a friend out, though you're the first friend to ask something like this. Still, if you need the help, I'm your girl!" She pauses, then tilts her head. "Wait, so you've already got the egg in you?"
Auriel nods. "Unfertilized. It will not hatch, but it is inside, yes." She shifts awkwardly, a few of her guards dropped as she lets Lei see a little of the discomfort she's in. She reaches down into her desk, shifting through papers until she finds something particular, sliding a form across the desk towards Lei. "Here. Read this. And if you agree, I already know you have my address on record."
Lei hums curiously as she starts to read the form. "What's your plan for the egg after you lay it?" She pauses, then asks a more immediately relevant question as she shifts her focus more onto the form, "Also... what's this, a contract?"
Lei hums as she trails off, reading into all of the 'details' present on the form, her initial curiosity giving way to subtle shifts of her expression as she digests the information. A slightly raised eyebrow, her smile sliding into a subtle smirk, and other such details; it's pretty clear the form's got her attention. "Oh, I see~. I take it I just sign at the bottom, then?"
Auriel hmphs. "If you wish. In part, it is a mere formality. It is best that anyone who chooses to couple with me have a full understanding of what it may entail." She pauses before answering the second question, "As for the eggs... I typically just dispose of them. I don't have an attachment to them, if that is what you mean."
Lei nods as she picks up a pen on Auriel's desk and signs, just to complete the formality. She sets the paper and pen down and slides them both back across the desk. "Yeah, I figured you wouldn't, actually, what with them being unfertilized and all. Maybe I could take it and just examine it after? Y'know, run tests and whatnot. As for the list, let's just say I'm intrigued~"
Auriel takes the paper and examines it, then folds the form and slips into a suit pocket to file properly later. "I suppose there's no harm in that. Though as for the list... I don't intend to go through with any of that for this purpose."
Lei chuckles as she gets comfortable in her chair. "Straight to the point, then? You sure, though? A lot of that stuff you like sounds pretty interesting~"
Auriel rubs her forehead with her hand and nods, "I am sure, Lei, yes. I just need to clear this damn fog out of my head so I can think straight."
Lei smiles and nods. "You got it, Auri. I guess we could always try some of that stuff at a later time!" She glances up at the clock on the office wall, "Anyway, how soon did you want me to stop by your place?"
Auriel looks at the clock. "...as much as I wish to get started immediately... two hours. I assume you can make that?"
Lei runs a quick analysis of who has already left the offices in the moments after Auriel's first statement. "Well, nothing's stopping us, since everyone's gone except you, me and Nawa, but Nawa's out at her post as usual." She giggles after a moment, "But sure, two hours is easy~"
Auriel snorts, "I do not wish to damage anything on the premises. I have managed all day thus far, I can manage two hours more."
Lei smiles and nods. "Two hours it is, then. Is there anything need me to bring along?"
Auriel shakes her head, "You will suffice, I believe." She pauses again, glancing away, "And Lei... thank you."
Lei chuckles. "Like I said, Auri, I'm happy to help~" She pushes herself up out of her seat and gives the dragon a little wave, "I'll see you in a couple of hours, then!"
Auriel manages a small smile in return, though she makes no move to wave back as she departs, this time not pursuing her.
Lei sets out for home, already internally reviewing the snapshot she took of the form while she was reading it and considering how best to present herself to 'set the mood' as humans and demis might call it.

AURIEL'S HOME - TWO HOURS LATER

Auriel waits patiently at her kitchen table, having removed her suit and currently wearing a more causal black tee and simple shorts. With some promise of relief, she has foregone the teas she usually drinks around this time and is currently drinking water, doing her best to keep focused while she waits.
Lei comes up to the front door of Auriel's place, now dressed in a pretty casual-looking set of clothes consisting of a light tank top, some walking shorts, a light jacket and slippers. She takes a moment to set the alarm on her car with a thought, then knocks on the door.
Auriel answers relatively quickly. The inside of the home is fairly spartan, little to no decoration beyond the furniture and basic appliances. She examines Lei and nods, almost seeming a little surprised that Lei would come all this way out, "You came."
Lei hums curiously, tilting her head even as she waves in greeting. "Of course! I said I'd be here, so here I am." She glances around at the front yard for a moment, "It's a nice place you have here, Auri."
Auriel shrugs, "I had a long time to find the right piece of land for my purposes. I prefer the solitude these days." She steps aside to wave Lei in.
Lei smiles and steps over the threshold into Auriel's house at her invitation. "Yeah, I bet it's peaceful this far out of town. Must be a really nice thing to come back to after dealing with the hustle and bustle of work."
Auriel nods, closing the door behind Lei. "Yes. Uh... I don't entertain often, so you shall have to forgive me." She seems a little uncomfortable, thought it's hard to say if it's her heat, her uncertainty about Lei being in her home, or something else.

Lei 's eyes light up upon seeing the huge bed, and she giggles as she immediately runs over and launches herself onto it.
